NET is a 19 year-old rapper from South Florida. He was introduced to hip-hop at a really young age because his brother would blast music at home. Some of his influences are Mac Miller, Big L, Eminem, and Nas. Growing up, his teachers saw his talent with words. He always had the best poems in the class becoming the go-to kid for help. NET started making music when he was 15 and began taking it seriously a year later. At 17 he began releasing music to the world and building a buzz by the time he was 18. He released two projects in 2015, both racking up over 20,000 plays. NET has been bringing bigger artists into his hometown to do shows which should help his local buzz. Expect big things from the young emcee this year and into the future.
“Light Up” is NET’s newest release and it’s a track for all the weed smokers out there. The track may start out a little slow but he picks up his flow 30 seconds in and begins telling a story. This isn’t your typical “weed song” because he doesn’t mention the sweet Mary Jane that often. The young rapper stays on beat and coasts through the hook nicely.
